
Getting Your UVC Output Right for Textile Printing
If you’re running a high-volume shop, you know the drill. You need your prints to set instantly and your fabrics to be clean. That’s where our germicidal UV bulbs come in. They hit that sweet spot around 253.7 nm, which is just the right frequency to wipe out microbes and lock your ink into the fabric.
Power and Consistency
When you’re ordering these in bulk, the last thing you want is a “hit or miss” batch. We make sure the UV output is steady across the entire length of the tube. Why? Because “cold spots” are a nightmare. If one section of the lamp is weaker than the rest, you end up with under-cured prints or patches where bacteria just hang around. **Pro tip:**Use a regulated ballast. If your power jumps around, you’ll burn through your bulbs way faster than you should.
The Build
We use fused quartz for the glass. Most people don’t realize that regular glass actually blocks UVC light, so quartz is a must. These bulbs are built for the chaos of a factory floor. They can handle the vibrations and the temperature swings without flinching. Plus, they’re simple drop-in replacements for your standard G13 sockets. Just a heads-up: quartz loves heat, but it hates surprises. If you spray a hot lamp with cold water, it’ll crack instantly.Don’t do it.
Fitting Them Into Your Line
Most of our customers slot these into their drying tunnels or UV chambers. It’s the best way to make sure the fabric is sterile and the print is locked in before it hits the shipping box. But here’s the thing: these lamps get hot. Really hot. Make sure your exhaust fans are actually doing their job. If the air in your chamber gets too stuffy, the UV output starts to dip. And when the output dips, your line speed slows down. Nobody wants that.
