It’s built for those who need high-intensity UV without messing around. The heat is the real story here. At this power level, these lamps get incredibly hot. To stop the glass from simply giving up and cracking under that pressure, we use high-purity quartz. It’s tough. But you still have to be careful with your power supply. If your ballast isn’t matched to the strike voltage needed to ignite the mercury vapor, you’re going to deal with flickering or, worse, a lamp that burns out way too soon. That messes with the light spectrum and kills the lamp’s lifespan. It’s a simple trade-off: you get massive UV power, but you have to manage the heat to keep things running smoothly.
